Robyn Francis
Robyn’s contribution to the Smart Cities Council has been nothing short of extraordinary. She played a pivotal role in transforming SCC from an organization on the brink of collapse during COVID into what it is today: the world’s leading body for Smart Cities, Buildings, Infrastructure, Technology, Policy, Research, and Education.
“For some time after the departure of the old owners and staff, it was Robyn and I doing just about everything: media, member meetings, events, education, IT, re-branding, cancelling old products, designing and launching new ones, budgeting, and selling.”
– Corey Gray, President, SCC
Throughout her tenure, Robyn demonstrated unwavering dedication and remarkable versatility. She took on every challenge with professionalism, creativity, and heart, always guided by her belief that Smart Cities must be a platform for genuine and positive change. Her leadership has helped shape major initiatives, partnerships, and milestones that define SCC today.
Perhaps her contribution is best captured in her own words:
“The Council has been a formative part of my professional journey, a place where purpose meets innovation, and where collaboration truly drives impact. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping convene industry task forces, shape narratives around digital trust and data governance, and work alongside brilliant people passionate about creating more connected, sustainable, and inclusive communities. Thank you to the Council community for the trust, collaboration, and friendship. This recognition means the world.”
