Agra gets country’s first smart city health center

Developed with an investment of Rs 1 crore, country’s first state-of-the-art clinic started operating outside Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC) head office on MG Road in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

The clinic, developed under the Smart City project, is equipped with advanced machines. Patients at the clinic will be provided medicines and diagnosis facility at concessional rates up to 70 percent. The clinic has a dental center and spectacle center. Eye-test will be done free of cost. Using advanced machines, patients will be given the diagnosis report on the same day.

Following a ceremony, Mayor Naveen Jain inaugurated the facility and dedicated the health center to the people of Agra. He also got his eyes tested and ECG done at the clinic.

Highlighting his pre-poll promise of setting up ‘mohalla clinics’ in the city, Mayor Naveen Jain said, “Around 136 tests will be conducted at the smart city health center at a price 70 per cent less than the market rates. Pharmacy of the clinic will provide prescribed medicines to the patients at the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates.”

Additional Municipal Commissioner KB Singh said, “We have made the first smart health clinic of the country operational. It is equipped with robotic machines. Soon, nine such centers will be made operational in different parts of the city. Out of these four centers will start operating within this month. Experienced doctors will be appointed at all the centres. Initially, the centres will operate from 10 am to 6 pm,” he said.

According to the rate list of the central lab, haemoglobin test will be conducted for Rs 18, diabetes for Rs 24, electrocardiogram (ECG) for Rs 50, kidney function test (KFT) for Rs 225, liver function test (LFT) for Rs 225, lipid profile for Rs 200, vitamin B-12 for Rs 250, vitamin D for Rs 550, etc.
