What we are creating in 2017

Submitted by Adam Beck on December 18, 2016
For more than four years, SCC has been a global leader in developing resources for government and industry to help build capacity and prepare organisations for taking advantage of the opportunity to accelerate sustainable cities outcomes through the application of technology, use of data, and embodying intelligent design. Here’s just a few resources you will see from us in 2017:

Smart Cities Readiness Guide Australia New Zealand

Adaptation of the global Smart Cities Readiness Guide (now in its second version) for Australia and New Zealand has commenced. A ‘war room’ has been established in Brisbane, with Council Partner Place Design Group, where the 400-page document will be subject to multiple workshops and review sessions with key stakeholders. If you would like to check it out, to see it evolve, and contribute, please contact Adam Beck at ‪adam.beck@anz.smartcitiescouncil.com.

Code for Smart Communities

SCCANZ has commenced work on a new resource to be launched in 2017 - “The Code for Smart Communities”. This resource will be focussed on providing guidance to the urban development sector, to help leverage smart cities opportunities as they build new and regenerate existing communities throughout our region, and beyond. Further information about this initiative can be obtained by contacting on Adam Beck at ‪adam.beck@anz.smartcitiescouncil.com.

Healing Cities Guide

For more than 12 month SCC has been advancing its Compassionate Cities initiate, which is focused on bringing attention to the critical role of technology in uplifting opportunities for vulnerable communities. As this program continues to grow, it will be supplemented with a Healing Cities Guide, due to start development in 2017.
