STEPHEN CERCONE APPOINTED AS SMART CITIES COUNCIL GLOBAL PUBLIC SAFETY LEAD

Smart Cities Council is proud to announce the appointment of Stephen Cercone as the Global Public Safety Lead, reinforcing the organization's commitment to enhancing safety and security in smart cities worldwide.

Stephen Cercone brings a wealth of experience to his role as a former police chief and the President & Founder of Safe Cities Global, a distinguished business development and subject matter expert consulting firm based in California. Safe Cities Global specializes in assisting smart city, public safety, and justice solution providers with customer opportunities and product development.

With an illustrious career spanning almost 30 years in law enforcement, Steve Cercone served as the Chief of Police for the City of Seaside Police Department in Monterey County, California, and held various roles, including captain, lieutenant, undercover detective, and SWAT team commander. His extensive background also includes service with the City of Bellevue Police Department near Seattle and the City of San Mateo Police Department in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Steve has excelled in the corporate world, holding public safety and security executive positions with global corporations such as Accenture, Oracle, Amazon, and Ingram Micro. He is an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner with a focus on the expanding global digital evidence market.

Steve Cercone is actively involved in various professional organizations and serves on the corporate council of the Citizens Crime Commission of New York City. He is also an advisory board member of Cardinal Point Strategies of New Jersey. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Steve holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco, where he serves as a board member of the USF International Institute of Criminal Justice Leadership.
