CenterPoint Energy is building an “Intelligent Grid” with power line monitoring equipment, remote switches, and other automated equipment that will locate power line outages as they occur. Ventyx, a subsidiary of Council Associate Partner ABB, will implement an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), the computer system which will be the intelligent grid’s “brain.”
