Smart Cities Council is proud to welcome Asim Muhammad as a new member, bringing an exceptional breadth of expertise across intelligent transportation systems, smart cities, rail, aviation, utilities, and digital infrastructure. With a career spanning some of the world’s most complex and mission-critical environments, Asim has delivered advanced systems across metro rail, highways, airports, utilities, and national smart city programs.


His experience covers cutting-edge domains including CBTC, ERTMS, GOA4, ATC/ATP/ATS, C-V2X, autonomous mobility, smart grids, SCADA, digital twins, AI-based video analytics, and data-driven transportation modeling. Asim has played key roles on landmark projects such as the Riyadh Metro, Sydney’s Intelligent Tunneled Motorways, smart mobility and self-driving taxi programs in Abu Dhabi, smart grid and metering initiatives in Qatar, and major rail and infrastructure programs across Europe and the Middle East.


Beyond delivery, Asim brings strong credentials in systems engineering, RAMS, cybersecurity, and commercial contracting, supported by PMP® and PMI-RMP® certifications. He holds a Degree with Honors in Electrical Engineering and completed Data Science for Business at Harvard Business School, enabling him to bridge engineering rigor with advanced analytics and strategic insight.
