Smart Cities Council Chair and President, @Mr. Corey Gray, has used his SCC Delegation Welcome Reception to announce the appointment of Washington DC based @Sunil Casuba to the role of SCC Regional Lead - North America.
Sunil has an accomplished background in cross-sector for purpose organizations and activities, and is also founder of executive AI recruitment and advisory firm, and SCC Global Member, @Smart Talent AI.
"Sunil and I first met when he attended Smart Cities Summit North America in San Francisco in May 2025, and there was a clear connection around our values, vision and mission." explained Corey Gray, SCC Chair & President.
"Soon after the San Francisco summit, Smart Talent AI joined SCC as a North America corporate member. Sunil immediately became active in the SCC global ecosystem, and in the balance of 2025 Sunil joined SCC activations including @Gitex Europe in Berlin, @Deep Tech Week San Francisco, @Smart City Expo Miami, SCC Global member, @Vantiq's #AI Summit in Washington DC, Asia Pacific Cities Summit in Dubai, Made in Wroclaw, Edition II of Silicon valley Startup & Investor Week and @Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona.
In the process Sunil took a leadership role with newly formed SCC Advisory, supporting cities, governments and project owners synthesise their project statements, stucture them and engage with SCC"s global vendor ecosystem, as well as developing high value service programs around AI Governance, AI Compliance, Trust, Integrity and the Smart Urban Readiness Navigator for cities, announced at SCC WEF Davos Delegate Welcome Reception in Zurich on Sunday 18th January.

Sunil will join SCC's Edition III of Silicon Valley Startup & Investor Week in San Francisco February 7 - 14, in which @Smart Talent AI is a delegate, and will be formally introduced in his new role to SCC's assembled member and partner network at a reception being held on Tuesday February 10th.
