VANTIQ AI Reality Summit to move the conversation from AI experimentation to real-world impact

Senior government, business and technology leaders will gather in San Francisco this September to explore how artificial intelligence can be operationalized to deliver reliable, measurable outcomes in the physical world.

The Vantiq AI Reality Summit will take place at the Fairmont San Francisco on 28–29 September 2026, bringing together approximately 300 executives, strategists, practitioners and operational leaders working at the intersection of AI and real-world operations.

Hosted by Vantiq, the summit will address a question facing governments and enterprises worldwide: how can organizations move AI beyond experimentation and siloed applications into trusted systems that support mission-critical operations?

Enterprises and government agencies have spent years exploring the potential of AI. Attention is now shifting from what the technology could do to how it can be embedded responsibly and effectively into everyday operations.

This next stage requires AI systems capable of monitoring changing conditions, informing or making decisions, coordinating responses and acting across physical and digital environments in real time.

The summit will examine this transition through two days of strategic discussions, executive conversations, practical demonstrations, interactive sessions and real-world case studies. Rather than concentrating solely on AI models and emerging tools, the program will focus on deployment, orchestration, automation and the operational systems needed to create lasting value.

Five strategic themes will guide the program: orchestrating AI across complex ecosystems; addressing the challenges of physical AI; moving prototypes into mission-critical production environments; implementing effective AI automation and governance; and learning from organizations already achieving measurable results.

Discussions will explore multi-agent coordination, human oversight, event-driven architecture, edge intelligence, sensor and device integration, autonomous operations, real-time situational awareness, operational governance, trust, reliability and enterprise-wide deployment.

These issues have particular significance for cities and governments. Operational AI has the potential to improve transport, infrastructure management, emergency response, healthcare, environmental monitoring, public safety and the delivery of community services.

Achieving those outcomes, however, requires more than introducing new technology. Governments and organizations must consider how AI integrates with existing systems, how decisions are governed, where human oversight remains essential and how public trust, security and accountability are maintained.

The Vantiq AI Reality Summit is designed for senior government officials, enterprise and technology executives, AI practitioners, solution architects, innovators and operational leaders responsible for deploying systems that deliver real-world outcomes.

Confirmed speakers include leaders from Vantiq, Deloitte Consulting, Verus Advisory, Harvard Medical School, NeuroSync and organizations working across healthcare, emergency management, technology and operational transformation. Additional speakers are being announced as the program develops.

Smart Cities Council is pleased to support the promotion of the summit to its global community of government, industry and technology leaders. Discussions are also underway about a potential dedicated smart cities track, which would provide an opportunity to explore the practical application of operational AI across cities, infrastructure and public services.

Alongside the summit program, participants will have access to executive networking opportunities, beginning with an optional welcome reception at the Fairmont San Francisco on Sunday 27 September. A VIP dinner will be held on Monday evening.

Attendees will also be able to access discounted passes to The AI Conference, which will take place in San Francisco on 30 September and 1 October. An invitation-only AI Innovation Tour of organizations across San Francisco and Silicon Valley is scheduled for 2 October, although the tour is currently sold out.

By bringing together decision-makers and practitioners already working to operationalize AI, the summit will provide a timely opportunity to exchange practical lessons, examine implementation challenges and better understand what it takes to translate AI ambition into real-world impact.
