Smart Cities Council is pleased to welcome Mutaz Abuhis as a new member of its global professional community, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to expanding expertise in digital transformation and urban innovation. Abuhis brings more than 25 years of experience in digital transformation, smart city strategy, urban planning digitisation, geospatial technology and technology‑enabled organisational change. 


He currently serves as Director and Digital Transformation Programs Manager at Ion Technologies Limited, where he leads strategic initiatives that integrate digital technologies with organisational change and program delivery. His work encompasses advising public and private sector organisations on digitisation strategies, smart and sustainable planning, and the use of emerging technologies to improve urban systems and services.


Abuhis’s professional background spans digital strategy, technology governance, and the deployment of geospatial and data platforms that support improved decision‑making in complex environments, positioning him to contribute meaningfully to Smart Cities Council’s focus on resilient, inclusive, data‑driven urban futures.


As a Council member, he will join a global network of thought leaders, practitioners and innovators working to advance sustainable, equitable and technology‑integrated cities around the world.
