The Smart Cities Council (SCC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jorge Jimenez as Global Ambassador, joining the Council’s expanding network of leaders dedicated to building communities that are more sustainable, equitable, and culturally enriched.

A passionate advocate for creativity and community wellbeing, Jorge brings a distinctive perspective that aligns with SCC’s growing focus on the intersection of art, culture, and technology in shaping better cities and lives.

“I am extremely interested in joining forces and efforts with SCC to reach out to the national and international community, because it’s important to provide resources and support to communities, especially to those individuals with limited opportunities,” said Jorge Jimenez.

In his new role, Jorge will work alongside the Council to advance understanding of the role that art and cultural expression play in creating more connected, inclusive, and thriving societies. His appointment supports SCC’s collaborative objectives to:

  • Advance the understanding of art’s role in social transformation and wellbeing

  • Share that understanding globally through community partnerships and education

  • Promote and enable action around the use of art as a catalyst for positive change

  • Promote one another’s people, work, and activities through shared platforms

“I am grateful to be a Global Ambassador to share what SCC can do for people to stimulate their growth and how it can benefit each individual on a regular basis,” Jorge continued. “I have already experienced first-hand what SCC has been doing here and abroad, when I had the privilege to be part of the Summit in California last summer. I’m thrilled to be among a team that is making positive changes to impact the world in a brilliant way. Let’s go!”

Corey Gray, President of Smart Cities Council, welcomed Jorge to the role, noting:

“Jorge’s passion for using creativity and art to connect people is a powerful addition to our mission. His belief that culture and compassion must sit at the heart of smart cities mirrors the values that define our work globally.”

Gray added:

“Our collaboration with Jorge will help advance key focus areas such as cultural integration, leveraging art, architecture, and music to elevate quality of life, alongside wellbeing, healthspan, and human-centered urban design. Together, we are building smarter, more beautiful, and more liveable cities for everyone.”
