3–5 November 2026 | Barcelona

The global stage for urban innovation is set — and Smart Cities Council (SCC) members are invited to be part of it.

SCC will return to Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026 in Barcelona, bringing together our global ecosystem of cities, startups, industry leaders, and innovators for one of the world’s most influential smart cities events.

Step Into the Spotlight: World Smart City Awards 2026

Alongside SCEWC, the World Smart City Awards 2026 are now open—calling for the world’s most innovative projects and solutions shaping the future of cities.

With 462 submissions from 64 countries in 2025, the Awards represent a premier global platform for recognition and impact.

We encourage SCC members to apply if you are:

  • A startup with a breakthrough solution
  • A city or government leader driving transformation
  • An industry partner delivering real-world impact

Projects advancing sustainability, liveability, inclusion, efficiency, and safety are strongly encouraged.

Applications close: 29 June 2026

Amplify Your Presence Through SCC in Barcelona

This year, SCC will once again host a dedicated SCC Pavilion at SCEWC 2026, providing members with a powerful platform to showcase solutions, connect with global city leaders, and engage with international partners.

For members submitting to the World Smart City Awards, this creates a unique opportunity to combine global recognition with on-the-ground visibility.

By aligning your Awards submission with participation in the SCC Pavilion, you can:

  • Elevate your global profile and credibility
  • Showcase your solution directly to decision-makers and cities
  • Build strategic partnerships and market opportunities
  • Engage in curated SCC networking and ecosystem activities

Get Involved: Join the SCC Barcelona Program

There are multiple ways to participate as part of the SCC delegation:

  • Exhibit within the SCC Pavilion
  • Join via a Hot Desk in the shared SCC space
  • Participate with a Digital Booth (low-touch, global visibility)
  • Access speaking and thought leadership opportunities
  • Join curated networking and ecosystem events

Whether your goal is to generate leads, expand internationally, or position your organisation globally, SCC provides a gateway into the international smart cities ecosystem.

Additional Opportunities at SCEWC

Beyond the Awards and Pavilion, members can further elevate their presence by:

  • Hosting a session within the official Congress program
  • Bringing your own event into the Smart City Expo framework

Applications close: 11 June 2026
