Orange County Florida is a 2021 Winner of the Smart Cities Council Readiness Challenge. The winning project has three goals: First, reduce the contribution to carbon emissions caused by its building assets. Secondly, make these building assets safer and healthier for occupants. Third, use the Smart Cities Council's Readiness Program to increase the solutions considered during the 'scoping' phase of the pre-procurement process. The initial focus will be on the Orange County Convention Center ('OCCC') (the 2nd largest in the US) by inviting innovative solutions.
In this Readiness Program online session, held on Thursday April 29, Orange County, Florida Chief Sustainability and Resilience Officer, Jeff Benavides discusses the current requirements for the country's second largest convention center.
