ABOUT THE EVENT

Join Florida cities Orange County, Orlando, and Coral Gables along with global experts and learn how to:

Scope digital twin solutions against multiple use-cases so you secure the best return
Control your deployment of digital twins with multiple solutions and use cases
Use digital twins to improve stakeholder engagement (city leaders and citizens)
Participate in solution demonstrations for your particular use cases

Cities participating will have access to an online collaborative planning platform pre- and post-workshop webinars and at the workshop, talk to other cities about how they use or plan to use digital twins.

THE SPEAKERS

Raimundo Rodulfo, P.E., PMP, Director of Innovation and Technology for the City of Coral Gables will share Coral Gables’ Digital Twin Journey with firsthand insights and learnings.

Jumbi Edulbehram, Global Development lead for Smart Cities and Spaces at NVIDIA who will dive into the NVIDIA Omniverse.  

Mike Hess, Director of the Future-Ready City Initiative, will describe the City of Orlando’s upcoming digital twin program which is in the planning stage. He will describe use-cases and goals for upcoming deployment.  

Dr. Grace M. Bochenek, Director of the School of Modeling, Simulation and Training, University of Central Florida will discuss Digital Twin technology strategies, commercialization, technology maturation and integration, and performance analyses with an emphasis on strategic alliances, partnerships, and global/international programs.  

Dr. Carolina Cruz-Neira, Agere Chair at the Department of Computer Science, the University of Central Florida on her work to transfer research results into daily use by spearheading several Open Source initiatives to disseminate and grow VR technologies and by leading entrepreneurial initiatives to commercialize research results.  

Megan McElroy joins us to showcase how AWS IoT TwinMaker makes it easier for developers to create digital twins of real-world systems such as buildings, traffic control systems, industrial equipment, and utilities machinery. With TwinMaker, you’ll have the tools you need to build digital twins to help you optimize operations and increase the uptime of and systems and services, improving the quality of life in the communities you serve. With the ability to use existing data from multiple sources, create virtual representations of any physical environment, and combine existing 3D models with real-world data, you can harness digital twins to create a holistic view of your operations faster and with less effort.

Felix Laroche, CEO at Jakarto, will share how the Jakarto team extracted over 55,000 road signs in 6 weeks, to build an exhaustive road sign inventory database, amongst other digital twin projects.

Starr Long has been making video games and technology for almost thirty years. Over his multi-decade career Starr has partnered with visionaries like Richard Garriott and Lane Merrifield. Starr started his career at the legendary studio Origin Systems, where he was the director of Ultima Online. UO is the longest running MMO in history, and holds eight Guinness World Records. In 2000 Starr co-founded Destination Games with Richard and Robert Garriott. Starr’s industry acumen was recognized in 2008 when he was named one of the Top 20 Most Influential People in the Massively Multiplayer Online Industry by Beckett Massive Online Gamer Magazine

Starr joined The Walt Disney Company as an executive producer in 2009. At Disney, Starr produced the Disney Parent App for Facebook, 8 mini-games in Club Penguin, Club Penguin mobile 1.0, 5 Educational Game apps for iOS and the Disney Connected Learning Platform. In 2013 Starr joined Portalarium to work on Shroud of the Avatar, currently the second highest crowd funded video game ever to ship. Starr Long currently works at The Acceleration Agency whose clients include Carnival Corporation, Universal, Disney, and College Forward.

David is a highly experienced and successful entrepreneur, currently as Founder and CEO of a global cybersecurity and risk corporation, Intuitus Corp, since 2004. 

Previously, he has served as Global Managing Director of Business Intelligence and Security Consulting for Kroll Associates and as Principal/Partner for Arthur Andersen Worldwide Consulting, serving as Managing Director for Global Aerospace and Defense and Business Intelligence.

David has previously led three technology firms and is also the chairman of a corporation that is developing a smart city in Ghana on 1800 acres north of Accra. They are in the final stages of contracting for 15,000 housing units as well as planning for the city-scape of the development (schools, hospital, hotel, and other amenities). All of this will be modeled in our Research / Innovation / Simulation / Certification (RISC) Center via Digital Twin technologies, to include predictive analytics.

Workshop Location The workshop will be held in two locations – on the University of Central Florida campus and at the Orlando City Hall. Our advice is to stay at the Celeste Hotel, where there will be a discounted rate for Monday and Tuesday night and leave Wednesday afternoon at a time you choose. We will provide transportation from the Celeste Hotel to City Hall on Wednesday so you can leave from there.
