The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has decided to set up a thermocol recycling unit, supervised under MM Enterprises, a Bengaluru-based company. The recycling unit would be in the management complex located in Tukivakam village near the city.

Madhu, the promoter of MM Enterprises, informed that after receiving the thermocol waste, it would be melted and made into blocks for factories in other states, which are engaged in the reuse of the thermocol garbage.

Chandramouliswar Reddy, MCT Deputy Commissioner, told the media that building the thermocol recycling unit was easy and would enable the corporation for effective waste disposal and make the city clean.

Reddy said that the unit is not taking up a lot of space and not many expenses too. The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has discovered a way for disposing of thermocol waste, including the discarded thermocol boxes and several other packing items made of thermocol.

Every company and manufacturer uses thermocol for packing mainly fragile items. So, to enhance the maintenance of the city, MCT has decided to build a recycling unit, supervised under MM Enterprises, a Bengaluru-based company.
