The Smart City Mission will maintain the three chimneys of the River Side Power House in Kanpur as they have historical value. The Lal Imli and Kotwali police stations, which were built by Britishers, have already been adopted by the Smart City Mission.
Shiv Sharanappa GN, the municipal commissioner, recently directed officials from the Smart City Mission to prepare a project report on the subject. The British built the Riverside Power House to supply the city with electricity, and it has done so for many years. It has been closed for the time being, but the structure remains.
The three chimneys of River Side Powerhouse will be maintained by the Municipal Corporation, and the Smart City Mission will illuminate them with tricolour lights, according to the project plan. It would provide people with historical information. The police station buildings in Lal Imli and Kotwali are being decorated at a cost of around Rs 2 crore.
Tulsi Upwan in Motijheel will be decorated in the same manner as Nana Rao Park. Lights and foundations that were out of order would be repaired. The park's statues would be painted and embellished.

The mission's main goal is to promote cities that use smart solutions to provide core infrastructure, a clean and sustainable environment, and a decent quality of life for their citizens.
