Smart Cities Council (SCC) and The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 7th August 2024 to strengthen collaboration on promoting smart cities, buildings and technology solutions in Australia and Hong Kong. The signing ceremony took place at the Smart Cities Week APAC event, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between the two organisations.
The MOU aims to foster innovation and collaboration in smart cities, building, and technology development by leveraging the strengths of both SCC and HKTDC to drive growth in Australia and Hong Kong. This partnership will focus on promoting smart cities technologies and solutions through exhibitions, conferences, joint events, knowledge sharing, and collaborative projects. By working together, SCC and HKTDC aim to create a more connected, efficient, and sustainable bilateral trade & investment environment between Australia and Hong Kong.
Mr Corey Gray, President of SCC stated, "This MOU represents a significant step forward in our efforts to promote smart cities solutions and share learnings between stakeholders globally. We look forward to working closely with HKTDC to drive innovation and create positive, self-sustaining social, environmental as well as economic benefits."

The partnership will also involve SCC’s participation in HKTDC’s signature event the InnoEX 2025, which will be held in Hong Kong from 13- 16 April 2025. This event serves as a platform for showcasing the latest smart cities technologies and fostering collaboration among industry leaders.
