About the 10th World Free Zone Congress

The World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) is a global not-for-profit organization that provides one authoritative, collective voice representing the interests of free zones around the world.

The World FZO was launched in Dubai, UAE, in May 2014, by its 14 founding members and under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Registered in Geneva and headquartered in Dubai, the World FZO is the only truly international, multi-lateral organization for zones in the world today.

The World Free Zones Organization was established to unite free zones globally, helping them achieve shared objectives and address common issues. The establishment of the World FZO was driven by the need to represent free zones globally. Free zones are crucial for economic development, and the World FZO fills this gap by promoting their benefits, such as enhancing foreign direct investment, trade, cultural diversity, innovation, and job creation. As a non-pro fit, World FZO supports free zone management and development through training, research, and analysis. The organization is committed to fostering collaboration and believes in the transformative economic power of free zones, which currently employ over 2% of the global labor force.

The World FZO aims to lead and support the continued growth and positive impact of free zones worldwide.
