The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) is working rapidly to develop the Drainage Master Plan for Srinagar city. Junaid Azim Mattu, Mayor of Srinagar, has directed to take up the process at the earliest by holding a meeting with the successful bidder concerning the fixation of a consultancy agreement for the arrangement of DPRs and project consultancy services.

The Drainage Master plan for Srinagar city is in action and has already taken a few steps in that way.

After the Mayor examined the sanitization, he reportedly transferred the directions to the concerned to equally rationalize the sanitation employees, so that no section of the ward is left behind to achieve better outcomes across the city. Mattu was meeting with all the senior leaders of the corporation to evaluate works about sanitation, preparation, works division, drainage, and other regular works.

He talked about several matters about the improvement and upgrading of solid waste management work, projects regarding sewerage, works its implementation and performance, etc.

Moreover, a committee in this regard will be formed that would assess and prioritise systematically according to the need of the complaint after conducting a site visit and representing a short ground record including the technical evaluation before the authority for its disposal.
