The government of Telangana has released an amount of Rs 100 crore for the funding of the Smart City Programme in Karimnagar.
Karimnagar mayor, Y Sunil Rao announced that the fund shall be released soon. He has mentioned that the work for this smart city program will be done in a gradual manner. He also took a tour of the seventh division, housing board colony along with discussing the under construction of smart roads and park works.
He further stated that as a part of the Karimnagar program the housing board colony would be developed into a modern colony. Moreover, under packages -I, II, III the smart roads have been included. Under package III the Colony roads will be transformed into smart roads with Rs 64 crore.
According to the mayor, the funds were sufficient. 50 per cent out of the total road works have been terminated already. The rest will be completed soon. The route work on the stretch between the Housing board colony and Kapuwad Varahaswamy temple under package-III will commence soon. Rs 6 crore have been used for the construction of a New Library building and Rs 1.5 crore have been used for the construction for a digital library.
Out of 11 parks, five are completed and the remaining six are under construction. The mayor said that the parks that are under construction will be completed soon.
