Smart Cities Council recognizes start-up for driving economic innovation

(Santa Clara, CA) – May 25, 2018 – Smart Cities Council, the world’s largest smart cities network, recognized Insights.US for its contributions to accelerating the innovation economy during the second annual Smart Cities Week Silicon Valley May 7-9 in Santa Clara, CA.

"Smart Cities Week Silicon Valley brought together city leaders, technologists and innovators to showcase what’s next on the road to more livable, workable and sustainable cities – and howto get there,” said Smart Cities Council Chairman Jesse Berst. “We’re pleased to recognize Insights.US as one of those innovators helping to blaze new trails for cities and their residents.”

Insights.US received the 2018 Innovation Alley Award based on the company’s achievements in enabling cities to engage with their residents, using artificial intelligence to solve the pain of information overload.

Innovation Alley Award judges Don Pacholec from the California Technology Council and Johanna Pittman from City Connect were impressed by Insights.US’ “strong concept and platform for cities to respond to its contributors in a personalized way.”

“Our AI-powered platform helps cities turn inputs from community stakeholders into actionable insights, in real time,” said Dr. Gal Alon, CEO and Founder of Insights.US. “We are honored to receive the Innovation Alley Award from the Smart Cities Council. I hope that more cities will use technology to talk with their residents instead of talking to them or digging up information about them. Let’s not be afraid to engage.”

Smart Cities Week Silicon Valley focuses on how innovation is shaping sustainable, inclusive cities. Conference participants learned about the latest advances in artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles and cybersecurity – and how new financing, procurement and engagement strategies can help cities use these new tools.

In addition to this event, the Smart Cities Council produces two additional Smart Cities Week conferences each fall in Washington, D.C. and Sydney, Australia.
