Geographic Information System –Phoenix, AZ
Phoenix has agreed to a three-year, $10M contract with Woolpert, Inc. to provide a geographic information system (GIS) for the city’s Aviation Department.
Advanced Metering Infrastructure –Mansfield, TX
Mansfield has given a $1.2M contract to Master Meter, Inc. for the purchase of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) meters, along with a customer engagement and analytics platform.
Case Management System – Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. has awarded a $250K contract to Tybera Development for the implementation of a case management system for its Department of Employment Services (DOES).
Currently Open Bids and RFPs
Bids and RFPs are the bread and butter of government contracting. These smart city projects are a few examples of the kinds of contracts agencies have recently put out to bid.
Police Body Worn Cameras –Houston, TX
Houston has released a request for information (RFI) for companies that provide cameras with integrated video storage and retrieval software systems to police departments.
Wireless Camera System –San Jose, CA
San Jose is seeking quotes for a wireless camera video and detection system for the city’s police department, including parts, installation, training and cloud based video storage.
Rugged Mobile Computers –Narragansett, RI
Narragansett has an open bid available for the provision of new mobile laptop computers, related accessories, as well as the installation in the Fire Department’s rescue vehicles.
Stadium Design Services –Nashville, TN
Nashville is seeking architectural, engineering and consultant firms to submit proposals for the design of the city’s new Major League Soccer Stadium. LEED Silver certification will be required.
Future Leads in Budgets and Spending Plans
Companies interested in selling smart products or services can get the most foresight by finding potential projects within agency budgets and capital spending plans. Intermodal Logistics Center –Tallahassee, FL
Tallahassee is planning on allocating $10M in its FY 2020 budget for the creation of an intermodal logistics center, allowing for more intelligent and strategic transportation of goods.
Computer Equipment Replacement Program –Santa Monica, CA
Santa Monica has allocated nearly $7M in its budget from 2017 to 2020 to its equipment replacement program, to upgrade computer hardware and other related materials.
Bike Paths and Sidewalks –Lakewood, CO
Lakewood is expecting to spend a total of $3.7M through 2022 for the design, property rights acquisition (if needed) and construction of approved bike paths or sidewalks.
