IFZA joins Smart Cities Council as Global Partner

Submitted by Robyn Francis on June 2, 2024

Smart Cities Council is pleased to welcome IFZA, “International Free Zone Authority” based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates as our latest Global Member.

Providing a suite of integrated, end to end services for companies globally establishing operations in the rapidly expanding Middle East market, IFZA, the world’s fastest growing free-zone community, has a proven track record of attracting thousands of businesses to Dubai and for contributing significant foreign direct investment into the UAE. Dubai is one of the most dynamic and business-friendly cities on earth with forward-thinking policies and initiatives focus on diversifying and expanding the economy, including the Government’s Agenda D33, whose goal is to double the size of Dubai's economy over the next decade and to consolidate its position among the top three global cities in the world.

Dubai is committed to fostering sustainable development and preserving its environment for future generations. The city has undertaken various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, increase energy efficiency, and promote the use of renewable energy sources, and has introduced progressive policies toward industrial acceleration, developing the innovation sector with a strong focus on AI, and an emphasis on entrepreneurship within the region.

“SCC is laser-focused on providing our members, partners and global network with products, services and solutions that build capability, capacity and collaboration. With the Middle East being the centre of the Smart Cities world currently with projects like Neom in full swing, having members like IFZA being able to offer SCC members end to end, fast, cost-effective full-service solutions to establish operations in the region is a huge benefit,” said SCC Global President Corey Gray.

“For IFZA Smart Cities Council is a logical partner,” adds Holger Schlecter, CFO of IFZA. “Firstly, we align on values. Secondly, as the Smart Cities sector grown, SCC and its member base are expanding rapidly both globally and the MENA region. Our services and solutions are ideally suited for organizations operating in the Smart Cities, Smart Buildings and Technology sectors and allow SCC and its members to focus on their core business, accelerating their action and impact.”
