Call for case studies: Scaling up InfraTech financing and development

Global Infrastructure Hub
Submitted by Robyn Francis on April 14, 2022

The Global Infrastructure Hub would like to invite members of the Australia New Zealand Smart Cities Council to submit case studies that demonstrate effective approaches and interventions for financing and developing InfraTech. We are contacting public and private sector organisations around the world to find approaches that can be scaled and replicated across sectors and jurisdictions.

Approaches could fall under one or more of the following categories:

  • policy (e.g. procurement, regulations, strategies)
  • commercial (e.g. delivery models, partnership models)
  • technological (e.g. digital platforms, data/AI, cybersecurity)
  • financial instruments (e.g. specialised funds, grants, equity, retained earnings)
  • other broader incentive schemes.

Submissions will be considered for publication in our online Knowledge Hub. In addition, the top five case studies will be featured in a blueprint the GI Hub is developing for the G20 - with the support of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank – to scale up InfraTech financing and development.

What do we consider InfraTech?

InfraTech is defined by the G20 InfraTech Agenda as ‘the integration of material, machine, and digital technologies across the infrastructure lifecycle.’ We are looking for case studies where digital and non-digital technologies have been integrated with physical infrastructure to deliver one or more of the following outcomes:

  • climate mitigation
  • climate adaptation
  • enhanced social inclusion
  • enhanced pandemic preparedness and response
  • improved infrastructure delivery and/or performance.

The deadline for submissions is 11:59PM CET (UTC/GMT+1) on Thursday 21 April 2022

Further information on the call for submissions and examples of approaches for scaling up InfraTech are on our website here: https://bit.ly/3833luN.
